Production process (hot stamping foil)

1. Analyze and confirm the production process and parameters according to the customer and product application scenarios
2. Inspect raw materials to ensure to meet production needs.
3. Release layer coating. Measure release layer and release force
4. Color layer coating, chromatograph for color comparison
5. Embossing for holographic(laser) foil.
6. Aluminum coating. Make inspection for aluminum layer thickness and uniformity 
7. Coating of adhesive layer (glue layer). Make inspection for glue coating thickness and flatness .
8. Cuttingfoil roll.
9. Packing

Storage environment of hot stamping foil

1. Storage environment : normal temperature, dry and ventilated, and avoid sunlight exposure
2. Use within 3 years.
3. Stacked upright, 1 inch paper tube foil stacking within 4 layers

Common problems and analysis of anodized aluminum hot stamping foil

Dust around stamped area after used.
1. In the case of meeting the hot stamping requirements, it is recommended to reduce stamping temperature
2. After adjusting the working parameters (temperature, pressure, speed), if there is still foil powder in the stamped area, it is recommended to replace the hot stamping foil.


The effect(fastness) is bad when hot stamping on UV ink
1. Commonly used hot stamping foil adhesive layer has poor bonding fastness with UV ink.
2. Under permitting of the scope of conditions and acceptable of production cost, hot stamping can be done twice to increase fastness of foil and UV ink.
3. Use foil in special glue for UV ink.

After hot stamping on printed paper a period of time, the hot stamping area will oxidize blacken.
1. The cause of oxidation blacken is that the residual chemical solvent in the paper volatilizes after being heated and pressed, reacts chemically with the aluminum layer of the hot stamping foil.
2. Reducing the chemical solvent residue in the paper by pre-stamping.
3. Coating protective layer in aluminum layer of hot stamping foil

The hot stamping area is crackedafter foil worked embossing.
1. The cause of the cracking is the low toughness and ductility of the color layer and aluminum layer of the hot stamping foil, under high temperature pressure of working.
2. Improving the temperature resistance of hot stamping foil.
3. Use color layer material with good ductility and appropriately reduce the thickness of the aluminum layer

Stamped area has poor washing resistance after hot stamping / transfer on fabric
1. Appropriately increase the curing time after the cold-peel foil transferred.
2. There are more hydrophilic micelle in the chemical solvent molecules of the fabric foil, add coating protective layer to block the contact between the hydrophilic micelle and water.

Coveringpoweris poor after pigment foil hot stamping
1. In order to reduce dust after hot stamping, many production designers reduce the titanium content in the color layer, resulting in weakening of the color layer's covering power.
2. At present, after a lot of testing, we make improved the formula, and use the ternary color layer coating method, greatly improved covering power of pigment foil.
3. At present, the white pigment foil has excellent coverageon the dark substrate.

For over-printable foil, the bonding fastness is poor between ink and foil.
1. After finished hot stamping, there is still a small number of release layer material (wax) remaining on the surface of the stamping area. During the printing process, the adhesion is poor between the ink and residual wax layer.
2.  Passed a lot of experiments, our company use appropriate cellulose in the release layer to greatly improve the bonding strength between the ink and the hot stamping foil.
3. Adjust the curing agent content in the color layer to improve the edge definition of stamped area.

For laser printer foil(toner reactive foil),bonding fastness of toner and foil, color of stamped patterns similar as dried earth, not rich
1. Passed laser printing, there will be fine honeycomb gaps between the toner particles. Therefore, during the time of working, the toner reactive foil have to fill these small gaps in first timethen keep the entire stamping surface smooth.
2. Our company use proper amount of titanium powder inglue layer, and uses the secondary glue layer coating method to increase the effective filling and adhesion of the adhesive layer.。
3. Adjust the color layer formula, reduce the curing agent rate, and add cross-linking agent, thereby greatly improving the fullness of the transfer pattern.
